When the moon
first circled the earth,
it did so because
a strong connection
had formed
between the two.
This connection
was never meant
to signal the rejection
of all other planets
who might have won
the moon,
or moons
who might have joined
the earth,
but the unique
and beautiful bond
that had formed
between two travelers
who were once alone.
