Harker to Mina

My dearest Mina,
How I have missed you,
I have kept tally,
Since parting,
What nights have passed since last I kissed you.

My dearest Mina,
E’er will I hold you,
When, trap undone,
I ‘rive home,
As safe and sound as I once told you.

My dearest Mina,
Oh, how I need you,
For courage fails,
In such Dark,
Forgive me that I did not heed you.

My dearest Mina,
What hope to leave you?
Light yet may burst,
Through stone walls,
And let these broken arms receive you.

Hi, my name is Jacob Anton (ANN-tin) Davis. I am a husband, father, attorney, and writer. I have written poetry and fiction as a hobby for the past 20 years, but I launched J. Anton Poetry in 2019 to share my writing publicly. The poems of mine on this site largely describe my thoughts about the deeper connections and meaning in our everyday lives.
